“ This is my favorite place to eat. We've made wonderful friends (regulars)and memories here. It seemed only fitting that I had my dad's funeral dinner as it was also his favorite place. Well like that extremely hard, sad, and anxiety filled day nothing really worked out well except for the food tasting great. They asked my dad's favorite color so they could have the napkins signifying they also asked his name I'm still not sure why. Usually when I've hosted any event at a restaurant it doesn't start until me the host paying arrives except for drink orders. I chose buy your own alcohol but nobody was asked if they wanted a beverage at all, we had one waitress for 21 people. The girl seemed puzzled when I asked for a tea for my aunt and cousin that came in from Florida. Once others heard they can also order regular beverages the waitress became overwhelmed so I got up and helped her serve drinks. The first course was French onion soup that was sitting on the table even when the first people arrived they asked us if what kind of potatoes or rice with the meal then when the meal came the kitchen said you get what we give you plus they forgot my mom's meal that took an extra 20 -30 minutes. I didn't call and express my disappointment right away because one I was and still suffering from burnout and grieving. The owner made a lovely gesture and gave my family of four a free meal. But I did learn a lesson for $60 a person don't do a fix menu. My meal for four was probably $100. The food and ambiance is lovely and I will always return, the staff and regulars seem like home for me. ”

“ Nice menu with lots of options. Seafood is well prepared. Never had any issues with anything. The onion soup is delicious. Great selection of adult beverages. If you save room for dessert get the carrot cake. Great staff and service and lots of windows to see the water outside. ”

“ I can't say enough about how wonderful this restaurant and Tiki Bar is!! Located by the water, Captain's Inn has been owned and/operated by the same family for almost 60 years. There is a laid back, comfortable feel with beautiful views. You can even arrive by boat!! I would describe the dress code as dressy casual, but fully casual at the Tiki Bar. But the main reason to go to a restaurant is to eat, and Captain's Inn has never disappointed. Lunch, dinner, brunch, drinks or private events, the food is consistently good quality with generous portions and outstanding taste. My favorite menu item is the She Crab soup served with a splash of brandy on top. A great comfort food! Of course their seafood menu is diverse and yummy, but their 'land' items are also diverse and yummy! In the over 36 years that I have been a patron of Captain's Inn, I have had so many different dishes it's hard to express how perfectly cooked and delicious they are. We have held many private parties there, from small intimate gatherings to parties with over 100 people. Debbie (owner) and her staff will go over all of the options available so that your event is just as you wanted. Highly, highly recommend. ”

“ The food is delicious and the service is great! The waiter was attentive, helpful and friendly. My friend had a broiled fish platter that was plentiful, fresh and prepared perfectly. I had the 'all you can eat' prime rib buffet. The meat was cooked to perfection, nice size slices and there were plenty of side dishes and salads on the buffet to choose from- pasta, fruit, greens and vegetables. Plus, a variety of desserts! I definitely recommend this place but go early- it fills up fast! ”

“ My husband and I usually have dinner at Captain's Inn, maybe 2- 3 times a year, for past 7 years, we lived in the area. You can always count on a solid meal with good portions. The she crab soup is one of my favorites and I always order. Appetizers of choice were clams & shrimp. Delicious & fresh! Tonight, we both ordered red meat, cooked perfectly. My husband had the rib eye with scallops and I had the filet wrapped in bacon. Garlic mashed potatoes are always on point. Their side of vegetables are also seasoned and cooked well, with good texture. Tonight, we had their famous huge carrot cake, enough to share with many. I also enjoyed the mary jane cake. Their desserts are unique and filling. They have their own style. Very old school and filling. You can't go wrong. The atmosphere is always the same; rustic, authentic, old shore charm. ”

“ This place was right on the water. And had an amazing outdoor and an indoor space. Very cool vibes. The waitress was attentive and helpful but didn't linger. It was nice to be able to chat without interruption. The food was good. I tried the crab cake on a Caesar salad. Friends had a crab cake sandwich, and the Asian salads . All were fresh. The crab cakes were very delicious and more meat than filler. I'd recommend. ”
